The snow just keeps coming, guess its not awful, just dealing with other drivers is the hard point. Garden is deep asleep, swept off the snow from the glass on the hot frame and everything is still green, not sure how I can open it and not let in too much cold air.
Garden is still a bit too moist go go play in. Got the candy boards made, they will set over night then I'll put them on tomorrow afternoon as long as the weather plays along. Also finished tearing apart 4 pallets for the materials.
Got the hives wrapped, will put on candy board next weekend then the girls are on their own except for checking their entrances come a large snow. Hot fames are doing well so far.
Been busy cleaning up old honey frames, will melt/ clean once all is gathered. hot frames using old windows on metal raised beds is keeping things warm enough, or the plants appear to be as such.
Got my honey extracted. Letting the extractor "drip" down for the night. will clean out the rest tomorrow. Got mor things to do then time. Frustrating.
@Sally PB From my understanding once the nectar has gone into then regurgitated out of the bee/bees into the cell, then the only step is to get the moisture content down below 18%. Note: going to low can cause an increase likelihood of the honey to crystalize.
Picked another bag of cherry tomatoes, pulled the honey supers and put the honey under a tarp with a dehumidifier. I am slowly working on cleaning up the garden.
