Hello all, I have recently renovated my coop and gotten a whole new flock since my last bunch expired from old age. I'm looking to make a huge change and move to Arkansas...I'm tired of having to worry about how every single drop of water is used. Baby pics of new flock included.
I'm hoping to relocate to Arkansas in the near (2 years +/-) future, but I can't seem to find any hard and fast rules regarding keeping chickens inside the city limits. This has, so far, limited my search to properties in the country. I would love to live in the country (I do now) but if a...
Thank you so much, I shall have to try this with my birds. My poor light Brahma, Ni Hao, just lets everyone pick at her and I've been at my wits end wondering what to do. Thanks for offering your perspective and insight on this very troubling issue.
We've actually made it up to 42 deg. today, but with that darn wind, it feels a lot colder. I'm sitting here right now with the wood stove going and poor little bald Clash sitting next to me in a box lined with old t-shirts. He is such a gentle soul, I wish the others would leave his top knot...
Not since I was a kid. It's cool to see all the balloons and stuff, but I never could get into rubbing elbows with all those people on a cold October morning. ;)
That's a great idea! If I didn't have so many critters depending on me alone, I'd probably do it. I haven't left the vicinity of Albuquerque/Moriarty since 2007. As I recall, it was quite beautiful down there. :love
They are 12 weeks and four days old. I ordered them from McMurray, and they were vaccinated for both Mareks and Coccidiosis. I will be in the run working on the coop tomorrow, so I'll have plenty of opportunities to observe their activity levels and behavior. I may just be overreacting, but I...
I'm probably just freaking out a little...I don't know! I just want to do the best I can by them. It was so heartbreaking and disheartening when I'd lose one with no warning or understanding of why, my first go around. :-( Thanks for your response!
Does anyone know if it's okay to mix quik chick electrolyte solution with corid? My birds seem to be rejecting the corid laced water and I'm hoping that the quik chick will mask it so they'll drink it? I have the 9.6% corid solution and I was told to mix 2 tsp per gallon. They were vaccinated...
Welcome to BYC! I too have been hanging around for a few years and just registered a couple days ago. I'm sure you'll love it here...I've been made to feel quite welcome!
