Are there any breeders in Northern Az?
Soon, I will be looking for Cream Legbars, Black Copper Marans, Olive eggers and Standard/giant Blue Cochin hens.
The food grade D.E. is supposed to be act as a wormer. My understanding is that all goats have worms, we can only control the load but can't get rid of them. The previous owner never wormed these goats but only gave D.E. Their eyes are very pink so there has to be some merit to it.
I just got my first goats yesterday. One, a 4 year old Nubian doe, the other a 1.5 year Nubian/Boer cross doe. I built a 1000sqft pen for them and plan on giving them controlled access to 2.5 acres of scrub. The previous owner fed them alfalfa with some D.E. nothing else. First day I offered...
I built roll out cages in the back of my aviary, 15 cages, 3.25sqft per cage.
5 gallon bucket gravity feeds poultry cups.
Egg collection was never easier.
That makes good sense. The smaller the quail the more easily they flush and are able to fly. My 10+ ounce birds helicopter in slow motion and can achieve 10 foot vertical (very short duration), but even a 15 year old, one-eyed bird dog could catch them.
Many breeders offer both standard and jumbo quail eggs. The following Facebook groups are loaded with such suppliers who ship eggs.
Quail Hatching Eggs Page
Backyard Quail
Coturnix Quail Breeders of America
Quail Breeders Unite
United Quail Breeders and Products
May I ask why you are looking...
The outside is wrapped with 1/2" HW cloth. The partition in the picture is plastic 1" mesh garden stuff for fencing your veggies. It doesn't need to be strong to keep them in, only needs to be strong to keep predators out.
I place my grow outs in one side of the aviary at 3 weeks old. Adults on the other side go nuts trying to get to them. At 6 weeks, I cage all that will be culled or sold and open the pop door connecting the two halves of the aviary.
Never once had a fight, including introducing new males to...
I place 2 of these 14" planter saucers in each aviary (in addition to waterers) for them to wade in, clean their feet. I water the plants with them at the end of the day.
Thanks Binki!
Outside is all covered up for the last two days. Wool blankets on the overhang 2 feet back from the front wall keeping the snow out but ventilation full. Nice and cozy inside this morning.

In her yearbook it says, "Most likely to brood a clutch of eggs". She climbs in the basket and inspects the eggs, trying to adjust them like a worried momma.
