Thank you. The hatchery confirms male too. What a bummer. He is pretty! If he's not too noisy he can stay.

    Rooster or Hen

I got 10 female chicks from mypetchicken and this one I have is making me doubt whether or not she is a hen or rooster. She is 13 weeks and makes almost a crow sound in the morning but her tail feathers look like a hen. She is bigger than my other chickens and is the most bossy too. The sound is...

    Molting at 12 weeks

I know chickens go through a juvenile molt and mine are 12 weeks old now and have been losing large feathers for a few weeks now. It seems like I am finding a lot of feathers every day so just want to make sure that this is ok. This is a picture of a small pile for example.

My chickens are mostly in the coop due to predators but when I let them out they go crazy for what I think are locust leaves. Here is a picture to confirm. I'm reading mixed things online if this is safe for them or not. They gobble them up so I hope they are not poisonous. Can they eat these...

Is it ok if 2 hens are coparenting??

I have 2 broody girls that are sitting on eggs next to each other in separate nesting boxes. Today is day 21 for one hen and day 9 for the other. They switched this morning and my question is, is that ok? I am not sure if they will switch back but is it ok for the one who was on day 9 to hatch...
