I grew up around chickens in Texas, but I haven’t tried keeping a flock in Alaska yet. I live on 5 acres in the woods in an off-grid log cabin. I’ve raised goats, geese, and sheep here, so I know there are many challenges keeping livestock in our climate. I want to learn all I can from those who have cold climate experience before making a decision.
