I got a bunch of starlights today and while there was quite the variety of markings and color variations, NONE of then were black at all...those do look like marans to me.
Here are my nuggets ☺️
How far are you from Lafayette? I literally just asked my husband today if we could do chickens again, and he said "uhh sure..." Mostly so if this covid craziness gets bad we ATLEAST have eggs...I'm not sure if I could talk him in to driving too far yet lol
Hi! I've been out of the chicken game a little while and looking to start back up. We lived in GA before so I don't have the connections in INDIANA I did there. Can anyone direct me to sellers locally? Near West Lafayette? I tried to search the forums, but nothing came up for me. Ideally we'd...
No maam, they've used them since they were babies and use them fine. They also have a pool though for their "dunking and rinsing"... Even after i brought him in and he ate and drank and got some poultry vitamins We ended up losing him :/
We're in GA so Temps have been almost 60-70 all week...and I believe lowest was 45 at night, pen is still "winterized" as well, so i know it's not from cold. He has been syanding and peeking his head out and making noises at me. He's drinking the AVC water also spilled it on his food and is...
No drainage, his eyes look sleepy, but clear and alert when we get near him. He's the only drake, and only have one female duck, they share a large covered pen with a very friendly rooster and 5 hens (all raised together from the start) they have their own pool and totes made into "duck houses"...
Help? I seem to have a sick drake. Hubby went out to feed them and found him laying against the fencing, honestly thought he was dead. Picked him up and he didn't fuss or fight, which is very unusual,he let me carry him all the way in to the house. He's eating, but have yet to see him drink. Ve...
I have 5 pekins, 2 mixes and a rouen. My 5 and 3 year old LOVE them! We bring them inside or to school pickup every once in a while. If you'd like to message me you're more than welcome :)
Thank you. I have some chicks but theyre too little to go out yet, i was considering getting a couple hens to keep him company until the chicks can go out, don't even care if they're laying. I'm in oakwood/gainesville area.
Thank you, I've got 6 chicks, but it will be a while before they can go outside, let alone be with him. I was talking to my husband last night about finding a hen or two to keep him company until the chicks get bigger. I don't even care if they are laying, I'll still get duck eggs, I just don't...
He seems to be in shock, he let me pick him up, and clean him, he was shivering (he lost A LOT of feathers) so I actually brought him in and he just sat on the back of the couch and let me clean him. He's been just watching out the window, poor guy I think he's traumatized and heartbroken.
