We found a coop that we liked on a blog and adapted it to fit our backyard. We still need to get the outside run done but the chicks are still just 7 weeks so they think they have acres to play.
I changed my shavings out about once a week. I had 5 chicks in a 1.5' x 3' aquarium until they were about 4 weeks and then they HAD to go out to their coop - they were getting way to big!

One of my little ones had some poo stuck that I couldn't get off and I didn't want to pull to hard. I just used a baby fingernail scissors and trimmed it off.
