    Automatic Chicken door

If you want the light sensor I would NOT recommend the Omlet. Love it otherwise but light sensor is useless as it opens to late. The have it hard programmed to a 20 minute delay. Too long even when set to open at light at a 1.

    Automatic coop door

We have the Omlet Auto Door and I would NOT recommend it if you want to use the light sensing feature. I have ours set at open when light is a 1 and they have it hard programmed to add 20 minutes. So 20 minutes after just the tinest of light the door opens. This ends up being about 15...

    So built the new coop

Water from the coop flows to the green roof of the run. I am not getting any water in the run at the point of where the coop and run meet.

    So built the new coop

Thanks Dakar. Wife wanted the music thing but no they never do anything with it that we have seen.

    So built the new coop

Just make sure you have a slight slope to the down spout so water flows that way. Brackets for mounting just screwed in. I did have to add a joint as the gutter was 10 feet and my run is 12.

    So built the new coop

It was easy. Got everything at Menards locally. Home Depot and Lowes will have the same stuff. I went with Aluminum but you could go plastic.

    So built the new coop

I boarded up between the coop and run. Then caulked it with roof caulk. Rained hard last night and I checked and no water gets into the run. Pick below.

    So built the new coop

Yep everything is screwed. I did add a gutter and down spout to the run after the pic. :D

    So built the new coop

Thanks Dakar and Becks. I cancelled the order for the one I placed so never even got it. Glad I did. They seem to love this so far. This is the completed project. Well maybe not completed as I seem to be adding things constantly. We have put blocks around 8" blocks around it on end and...

It is built and they seem to love it so far.

I was not planning on doing that. I got the 12 gallon water container and plan on filling that weekly. It is WAY bigger than needed but if we travel it is less for our neighbors to deal with. We are in town and they have chickens as well. We will just be using the city water.

So the coop and run are finished. We have 5 chickens that are just about 7 weeks old. Moved them to the coop at 6 weeks last Wednesday (fully feathered) and left them in it until Sunday afternoon when I finished the roof. Had to help them into the coop Sunday night as they didn't know to use...

    Are these fully feathered

Thanks. I am assuming the huddle box should be about as tall as the chicks?

    Are these fully feathered

I am thinking these are fully feathered but would like some opinions. They are 5 1/2 weeks old. Been off the heat inside for a few days. The heat was keeping the one side at low 70's for the last week it was on. They have been spending some of the days outside but I still have them in at...
