Yes the layer feed is out all day and in the evenings there are plenty left over when they go to bed.

Yes all of them are 'bony'. So I agree that the vet just don't understand pet hens. But at least she knew chickens in general to treat her correctly for the chest infection. Thanx for everybody's imput:)
