All the white ones look like pullets to me. The light brown and white looks like a roo. I can’t tell for the mostly brown guy. I’m leaning toward roo. All are mixes
How can you tell? I am starting to think so because my only other male picks on him. There really is no significant comb or wattle development though and i hatched them second week of August. My other male bird is a polish and it is very obviously male traits and crows etc
This chicken is about 3.5 mos old. No crowing or anything foolproof. Today she/he became very aggressive toward the same age for sure silkie boy. To the point of pulling out feathers and causing blood.
These birds are tricky. This one I was really convinced was a girl. No wattles even weeks after two developed wattles. This guy crowed a lot this morning.
I have 4 sapphire splash pullets purchased from TSC and estimate 6-7 weeks old. Two have more red combs wattle development. Is this suggestive of gender in this breed? All purchased as pullets
These are two of my 8 week old polish chicks. They are the only two that have red around their comb and wattle development. The lighter guy has crowed so definitely a cockerel. Do the wattles on the other indicate boy too?
Thank you for your thorough reply! I am new to chickens and mine are still babies right now so I have no experience with any type of coop set up. Right now they are in a highly controlled area in my back yard but they won’t be able to fit there at full size. I really like the idea of the wheels...
