Sorry for the delay.
I've just been so upset.
No. None came home. We found feathers in a neighbor's shed. Found them leading out to a cornfield, then nothing.
No signs of return after the first night.
So now I have to figure out what to do. I have two roosters and two undamaged coops. But...
I just went out. I didn't see them, but I did hear some sleepy clucking from under the bushes. That is hopeful.
I didn't want to spook em either.
I took a picture of the coop as well. All of the bedding had been torn out as well. It's a mess.
Thsnk you for the tips.
We spent the entire day looking for them. In the fields. In the woods.
We have identified piles of feathers to the cream rooster, a partrige rock hen and the blue laced Wyandotte hen. No other feathers or signs of struggle.
I put treats out. Corraled the roosters so...
I'm hoping for some advice.
A loose dog tore open our coop and run this morning. We found 2 roosters unharmed. 1 rooster's feathers. 1 rooster is missing and all of our hens too.
We have had them for two weeks.
How likely are they to come home?
We tromped around the fields and the yard. No...
We're not completely sure what we've got yet. But the goal is just to produce big, healthy, beautiful layers. No showing.
We have a few Easter eggers. I'm told we also have a blue laced red Wyandotte, an RIR, a light brahma and a partridge rock. Still not familiar with breeds enough to know...
Thank you!
Yes, we're trying to rehome some of the roosters, and have set up separation in the meantime.
We just didn't want to leave them behind. My mom's neighbor abandoned them when he moved out. They were in pretty rough shape when we took them home.
Thank you for the warning though...
Hello.
We recently took in a flock of abandoned chickens.
We had all EEs at one point, but something got into the coop so all we had left was a rooster.
We still have him, but dont know what color he is, or the breeds and colors of the others. I'm really trying to learn the genetics involved...
Hi y'all. I just wanted to jump in feet first. I'll use the template, but also elaborate.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens......................................I am new to chickens, but not new at all to birds.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 4 roosters...
