I traded a roo for this hen and noticed that she had been debeaked. I'm not a fan of the practice and I'm hoping that her beak will grow back :( any info on this would be awesome! Thanks!
Good plan!! I'd hate to see him go, he's so easy to handle and super friendly so fingers crossed for a miracle that he turns out to be a she or just doesn't crow much haha
Ahh darn! I was afraid of that We can't have roosters where we live so I was trying to be hopeful. I'll have to find this guy a new home. Any guesses on age?
Help! We found this stray polish and can't decide if it's a pullet or a roo. We can't keep roosters where we live so we'll need to find it a new home if it is a rooster. Thanks!
We purchased her as a sexed pullet but she seems to have a few rooster characteristics, she is 5 weeks now and I've noticed she runs at all the other chicks and I've seen her put her hackles up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed she's just a bossy girl, but I'd love some input! Thanks!
We put them outside into their coop and run and they put theirselves to sleep lastnight in the coop with the heat lamp in there. They seem much happier! Thanks everyone!

Yes she's my only Welsummer, I've been trying to research and see if they are slow growers but I can't quite find a whole lot. they're on medicated feed as well. I don't think it is coccidiosis, because the only symptom would be lethargy that she has. But it is also my first time raising chicks...
I attached a photo of the ingredients in the cell salts.
And I am using 20% starter crumble.
Her poops look pretty similar to the rest of the chicks, just a little bit smaller and maybe a bit drier, but not much of a difference.
This is my first time raising chicks. I bought 7 sexed pullets of different breeds and they're about a week and a half now. My Welsummer chick seems to be about half the size of the rest. She's pooping normally, and I've seen her eat and drink but it doesn't seem nearly as frequent as the rest...
