Thanks.. I ended up getting a vitamin called rooster booster that's kinda like a multivitamin for bird's that has a high enough niacin content for ducks. I also switched to a non medicated chick stayed to b safe.. After a few wks on this regimen he has feathered out, seems to have more strength...
Update on gimpy: after changing to an un medicated feed and adding rooster booster to food, he seems stronger, is starting to get feathers in! He's still small. I've put the ducks in with the chickens. Some chickens do peck him some, but nothingmore than peck order, get away from my food type...
Thanks everyone for the help! I didn't know the feed store would've had supplements.. I think Its My best bet.. By the time I got home they were bedded down but will get there rooster booster in non medicated feed tm!
That's what I was thinking.. Its been half the size of the others since I've had them.. The others have tripled in size an feathered out completely and this one is half size an no feathers at all..

I went with the rooster booster since I can mix it with there food and kno that There getting it. Since there currently drinking solely out of there pool, I'm not sure they would drink out a waterer to get enough niacin to make a difference.
Ok.. Thanks to all.. My local feed store has probiotics, vitaminsand electrolytes, performance poultry, and poultry booster. First 3 have 22 to 25 mg niacin. Last has 1000 mg. Worker said it's to mix with 50in sack an is good for chickens too.. Input?

I am New to bird's. I have a lame 5-6 wk old mallard out of 4 I have. I've been feeding chick started since I have 24 chicks but I'm just learning they need niacin. How do u kno how much to give them? Can u give too much?
