Question about Leahy Favorite 624 Incubator

Hi- I have a Leahy Favorite 624 cabinet incubator that needs refinishing and am looking for someone who can tell me what to refinish it with. Also if anyone knows where to find parts. I want to do this right. I found some old threads but it seems like those people aren't on here anymore...

Are turkeys aggressive, or is this a phase?

I have a 6 mo old turkey that came from the animal shelter in with my flock of 8 chickens and 1 crested duck. This is not a question about whether or not they should be together (I'm not worried about blackhead currently, and everyone is tested and free of diseases/keep up on parasites) but if...

    California-Southern

Hi- I originally posted in a different thread, but it was suggested that I post here. Is anyone in the L.A. area ordering from a hatchery and would be willing to let me add to their order? I just want one female Easter Egger/Ameracauna. I would pay for the chick, vaccination charge , and part...

Is anyone from the Los Angeles area ordering from a hatchery?

Hi- I am looking to get just one (that's right, only one) female Easter Egger/Ameracauna for my flock, and would like to know if someone in the L.A. area is willing to add one on to their hatchery order for me. I would pay for the chick and part of shipping. Thanks!

I have leftover Marek's and Fowl Pox vaccines -Los Angeles

Hi- I lurk mostly on the forum, but I just vaccinated today and have leftover Marek's and fowl pox vaccines if anyone can use it. They will expire tomorrow at 1 p.m. I live in Pomona (Los Angeles area) and they are free to whomever would like to come and get them. I hate to see them go to waste.

Hen was egg-bound and the egg popped inside-help?

Thanks for the response. I will try that. She also had a Convenia shot (antimicrobial) when she was there today, so hopefully that helps.

Hen was egg-bound and the egg popped inside-help?

My 2 year-old Ameracauna hen was(is) egg bound. I went to the vet today and he gave her a shot of oxytocin. It did not seem like the egg was going to move (it was in a really weird spot). I put a glove on a few minutes ago and tried to feel the egg (it could not be palpated before) and it had...

    My chicken needs help...

Hoping that someone can give me a good idea of what to do. 3 year old blue cochin hen is lethargic, not really eating well (but some), spends most of the time sitting in a corner. Her vent area is a bit messy, and her comb is a much darker red than usual (it seems). I did a fecal yesterday...

My Cochin doesn't seem to feel well

My 1.5 year old Cochin hen stopped laying about a week or so ago. Her comb is pale and her vent area is a little messy, and she doesn't seem interested in food. I wormed her last week. Does anyone have any idea of what might be wrong? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any idea of what may be happening?

They get Layena (Purina). I suppose I could separate her, but she isn't really worried about sharing the feeder, as she is at the top of the pecking order.

Does anyone have any idea of what may be happening?

They get grit, calcium, and they range around the backyard, which is why I thought she had a tapeworm (I do have darkling beetles and other tapeworm intermediate hosts). They also get cracked corn, yogurt as a treat, and eggs.

Does anyone have any idea of what may be happening?

Thanks for the answers. I work for the vet that I took her to (as a tech), did a fecal, absolutely nothing there. This doesn't rule out parasites, though, because sometimes things won't get picked up on a fecal exam. Her poop is normal (seems to have a lot of feathers in it, but otherwise...
