We had a rooster that herded the girls and kept them close to the coop when free ranging. Now he is gone and they seem to have no boundries. I'm worried they will go on the highway. Any suggestions?
we got rid of the rooster and the girls are recovering. Two of them have no feathers left on their backs. They are just bald, but now I see signs of fluff growing. Will their feathers grow back as before and how long will it take? Thanks
Hi I have a very large white rooster to give away. He needs more ladies than we can offer him and he is hurting the girls. Probably good for a new flock of breeders. Prince Edward County pick up.

I have a very large Ameracana Rooster who digs his claws into my hens' back when he is doing his thing. Two of them are raw flesh on their sides with no feather protection. My brown Betty has been bleeding a couple of times. Is this normal? Should I get rid of him. The 8 hens are all gentle and...
Hi I live in Prince Edward County. Mum to 8 hens and 2 roosters. We are getting 8 eggs a day, so I guess we are doing something right. We inherited this bunch that were abandoned when the previous owner moved out. We are real newbies, but learning fast.
Yes the coop is beautiful. My husband and son-in-law made it. It cost over $1000 when all was done, but it will withstand our cold Canadian Winters. I wonder if you can tell me why some of my Wyandottes have little combs and some don't.
I'm still having rouble with the Banty rooster. He came out...
Thanks for all your helpful advice. The coop is finished and the Chickens and roosters had a nice ride in a big dog cage on the back of the tractor. They were a bit shy for a couple of hours and then back to the yard and had a big supper. This morning we had 9 eggs. We are gong to try free...
Hi Thanks for all the responses. I guess our biggest concern is our Banty Rooster. He's really nasty. If you go in the pen he attacks you. We can kind of afraid of him.
We have inherited a flock of 8 laying hens about 1 year old and two roosters (one very aggressive). We have built the chicken coop and now have to transport them to our place. How do we pick them up? Sounds a dumb question, but this is our first encounter with chickens. We are planning to put...
