Broody adopting baby chicks: moving logistics

Thank you, that’s such an interesting experience with the pecking order and co-parenting! Our little broody is at the bottom of the pecking order so I was worried about letting the other chickens near the chicks while they’re so little. Luckily, I was able to successfully move mama and babies...

Broody adopting baby chicks: moving logistics

Thank you! So far she’s continuing to just sit in one place. So should I wait for her to move about? Thanks for your reply!

    10 week old Polish

Hello all, This little Polish is 10 weeks old. At first I thought it was a male because the tale feathers seemed pointy a few weeks ago. Now they seem rounder. What does the community think? Thank you!

Thank you I just posted a better photo. Yes she is a super sweet little gal and is getting around ok. We also make sure she gets food and water.

Chicken went blind at 7 weeks

Thank you that is so helpful. So, is there anything I can do for either the infected hen or her flock mates? Is it likeley that she develops regular Mereks as well? Also, I will send an additional photo.

Yes and from what little I have read, the chicken would have other noticable problems if it was Marek's.
