    Ovation 28 Cover

Does any one here with an ovation 28 find that the cover does not fit flush? It did when u first got it, but it seems over time it has warped a little. Leaves a small gap along the long edge. Does not fit snug to side. Affects humidity some... for now I put a strip of tape on to seal connection.

    Signs of life

When candling early on(day 4), do you ever see veins near air sac but no apparent embryo? As if the embryo is located centrally in the egg and not near the side where it would be visible? I clearly see some blood veins.

Hens are just under 2 years and rooster is a year. He has been in with them for 6 days and all are getting along great. I have confirmed one egg as being fertile already.

    Rooster Habits

i have recently put a Rooster In with my 8 hens. Is it safe to assume he will mate with all of them? I know they can sometimes have favorites, but will he ‘spread the wealth’ so to speak? Thanks.

    Fertile Egg Question

So 6 days ago I introduced a Rooster to my hens to fertilize their eggs. On a whim I checked an egg today. I thought it took 7-10 days for eggs to become fertile after the act. Or is that a rough guideline. The egg pictured sure looks fertile to me. It was laid today. Almost exactly 6 days after...
