    dont worry i have 4 roosters and only 3 hens right now. actually it works ok. the roosters have a pecking order and dont mount the hens with the dominant rooster around.

    i have found auto doors are great for the mornings, helps you not to have to jump out of bed at hte crack of dawn. in the evening, it's best to check things out because there are always some that dont want to go in or cant get in .

    3 mama hens for babies

    is it common for more than 1 mama hen to adopt the babies? i had 3 broody hens, not all eggs hatched for all the hens so they've kinda got a commune going with 5 babies now. 1 hen will run a bluejay away while the other mama shows them how to eat, etc... it's amazing to watch

    I wasnt even working on having bantams, it just happened. Here's the little roo and hen (they were born in Aug 2022).. he looks just like his dad but MUCH smaller . you can see how dominant the Maran is over d'Uccle . feathered legs too like dad (Black Copper Maran), so that's a plus using 2...

    hi, I have a regular feather legged copper maran rooster that mated with Mille Fleur d'uccle... produced amazing copper maran bantams (the copper maran is dominant for sure). Does anyone know what the "real" copper maran bantams are mated with to get the small size? thanks
