    So far the speckled Sussex are the smallest of the lot, in fact the buckeye crosses (Maran, rock, sex link, CX) are as big and 2 weeks younger... I think the Dixie's and pioneers are supposed to be the same bird, different hatchery. It will be interesting to compare. I believe we got ours on...

    I just wanted to post a thank you to everyone who posted about their experiences with the LG. Thanks to you we hatched 31of 40 eggs our first try! It took a long time to get through the entire thread, but it was well worth it.

    I'll be following this closely, we have a few CX (buckeye roo) in the incubator too. I'm hoping to eventually end up with something meatie like the Cx but with better foraging abilities and slower growth.
