    So when you do need to cull the males (to eat and to keep ratios) do you way till 18 weeks to tell? Or how in the world...     My cochin was doing the same thing, we found out (quite by accident and only after the fact) that another chicken was bullying her but only when we were not watching. Once the bully got injured and didnt survive the cochin stopped laying "roost eggs" that were thin or shellless and now are fine...

    They seem totally fine! Thanks! Am (sadly) disposing eggs the next couple days just to be sure but at least thats the worst thats seem to come of it. Clearly time to rethink wasp control.

    They seem ok this morning. Will keep a close eye on them today. I did find a couple dead wasps in thier run on the ground last night so it seems like they may have not been so eager to gooble them up so hopefully they smelled or tasted something funny and didnt actually eat much of the wasps...
