Looks awesome! Always overbuild, we just finished our first coop/run and it was a blast..but a ton of mental sweat ;)
What about the possibility of constructing a trellis and having something like Kiwi growing over and act as a cooling/shading tool...with benefits :)
Dave
Excellent and sorry for the loss, that's never fun :(.
It all boils down just knowing your animals and using common sense.
Sounds like you have a fun crew!
Thanks! Any creature that becomes an inhabitant of our home deserves respect and to be spoiled for life. We do our best to give them what they need and provide a safe haven.
Totally!
He is under voice control and will not be around loose birds in the yard. Only supervised interactions for us. I was just super stoked at his immediate lack of interest even when they came up and pecked him. We appreciate the heads up tho as many are too casual with trust.
Thank you all for the input. They interact so well I would hate to split one off.
I must say from a pecking order standpoint the SS is at the back of the line, she always waits for her food and is much less assertive than the others.
Ill leave you all with a shot of our dog Coby, who was...
We got these three birds on May first so 2 months old. Our Sussex is significantly more advanced that the others, is this the breed or is this a cockerel? I have a friend that says maybe.
I just assumed she was going to be a momma bear.
Anyhow, I hope these images are sufficient, I can gather...
Thank you for the reply!
The Rhody is outside the main run, but will be in the mid run so were still deciding.
I had read they are smart and differentiate between toxic plants, were probably going to still remove it and put in something more shady and friendly.
Thanks again!
Dave
Howdy!
I did a search on the topic of Rhododendrons and found a mixed bag so I thought I would post it here.
We are super newbies and have three girls that are about a month away from going into the run outside.
We are busy prepping the area, getting postholes drilled, moving the coop in...
Coby was pure luck, we had two senior dogs, a 14 yo Chocolate Lab and a 14 yo Malamute/Husky and wanted a third...more dynamic friend. Our vet showed him to us and it was immediate love. He came from batch of strays shipped up from the Bakersfield CA area. He is an amazing little fellow...
We put them in as hanging...but after that first interaction they seemed a bit startled...so I cut them off, with a tail and now they just toss them around and have fun. :)
Howdy,
Per the members board, here is my (our) story. My wife (username-Jumar) has also registered on the boards.
Looking forward to a new aspect to our backyard "wildlife refuge", we have had a fascination with making our backyard a little oasis in the middle of the city.
Chickens have been on...
