    I was reading a similar post and that make me feel sad again. But now looking back and using google maps I couldn't see any water source they could have used within 10min walking distance....

    I just used google maps and the only water source available to them would have been a 10 min highway walk. I just wish they would have taken the mom first.. The separation made me sad but as you said I did the right thing and the mom will have new ducklings soon.

    I just googled and there is a tributary 10 mins away from the parking lot. However its dry and there is no lake within 15 miles away...
