@missy60, you can see if your library has this book too. I check out books to see if they are ones I want/need etc. I love to collect books, but now need to cut back. Hubby sez slow up a bit on the books. Lol
We now have 1 Swedish-x drake & 2 Swedish-Smith-x hens. We are excited for them to...
Just getting back into the chicken farming. I figure if I'm going to be home all day, then I want to play with my chickens.
Can anyone tell me if the black sexlink has RIR in their lines?
I think I best find a reputable breeder.
Love this site, y'all are great !
Good morning.... We had a male runner along with our Swedish-x. Molting is what our ducks did & that's when our runners curl came out. Or Swedish never did get a curl, but he's all boy.
We now have 2 gurlz for him. He's happy & that's our goal, to make & keep our pets happy.
Have a good day....
Hmmmm. Maybe this "pink" is the pigment of brown that came out on her first "egg drop" & the others will be brown. My 2 older girls lay a very light blue & a beige color. I'm just excited that someone is starting to lay.
Next are my ducks. I'm just as excited if not more, for them to lay. 1...
I bought 2 rir's, 2 black sexlink & 2 buff sexlink ( they were nearly out of chicks)

Someone just started to lay & her egg is pink ! I know it's not from my mutt chickens, but was wondering if this...
We now have 3 ducks. 2 girls 1 boy.
They mate almost daily & my husband thinks that we will have eggs soon. From what I've read, we won't have eggs til Spring. Mating is just that, mating.
Our kids (ducks) are Swedish/Peking/Runner/Smith (new breed) , they are free range during the day...
I have a chicken that I call She Devil as she is very mean & Rooster like !
I separated her as she was "rounding up" the other girls & acting like a rooster.
I found that when I did this, after about 3 days, She Devil would "crow" to the other hens. Someone told me that she was actually a...
Our ramp wasn't as steep as yours looks to be. What about digging your "pool" into the ground a bit. That way it won't be so high up either. My husband dug a hole & put our pond into the ground. Before he had it propped up, he wanted to see if they might go in.
This was before he put it into...
My husband showed our 1 duck how to go up the ramp, the other one figured it out "after" he saw the goldfish ( I put in there) & realized he wasn't getting any. He learned pretty quickly. Haha
These are our boys, Howard & Gary.
