    First Broody Chicken... Not sure what to do?!

    I have four Buff Orps and one of them has gone broody. I have no roosters so I know it's not a fertilized egg. None of my other three have laid today. Do I force her out of the box? Do I leave the egg there or take the egg? Do I have to separate her? Please help!!! I know there are many threads...

    Thanks so much! I'm going to wait it out and give them time to mature. I'm am pretty confident now to just let them grow some more. Your BR are gorgeous! I am hoping to expand my flock next year and I have decided I need some BR. They are so pretty!

    Used pine chips... Compost?

    Has anyone added the dirty pine chips from their coop to their vegetable garden compost? I keep hearing chicken poo is great fertilizer and I know wood chips decompose nicely. Any thoughts?

    Please help me out. This is my first experience owning chickens... and even really being around them. Now, I got all four of my girls the very same day and was told they were all 3 day old pullets... Problem is that I have been getting two eggs every day for the last week so I'm afraid my fears...
