Yes that’s likely. However, from what I’ve researched, it really depends on the drakes you have. Just like any other species, (duck, dog, chickens, cows, pigs, etc.) some males are more tolerant than others to other males. Some drakes are fine with just having one or two hens and sharing the...
Thankfully I was able to find a wonderful home for one of my drakes, so I didn’t have much time with both. But they did great while I had them though. I hope for the best for your flock! ❣️
Update: only one hasn’t turned red combed lol 😂
Thoughts? 4 weeks old now
Also side note: do bcms show their copper super early? All the red combed boys are copper all over the place and this last hopeful pullet doesn’t have any other than a beginning collar.
Thank you for your input. The only one I’m hoping might not be a Roo is number 3 but that’s only based on coloring because I agree they all have big combs. Her comb also has a different texture to the points… so idk 🤪
Hey all! I know it’s super early but I’m hoping to get some eyes on these babes. I see at least two Roos already but the others I’m not sure yet. I know in the coming weeks it will be more evident but I guess I’m worried because I’m hoping at least one of these is to be a girl because I’m...
Warning: photo is really hard to see 😭
Hi everyone,
I went today to our local feed store who just got in a bunch of chicks. As we were getting our meat birds and picking out a few others the lady at the store showed me she had a chick that had gotten its eye pecked on quite badly from other...
Hello,
I have two 9 month old hen ducks. I got three ducklings on Valentine’s Day (6 weeks old now) and I got one female and two males. Can I put all of the ducks together? Can two drakes live with three hens in harmony? Or is it just a matter of time before we have problems?
Exactly what I was thinking too. Thank you for sharing your picture! It’s definitely helpful to have other input on here. Super thankful for this page and the chicken page. You can only get so far with google search lol
What do you mean by tail coloration? I was going off their voice and bill color too, but haven’t heard anything about the tail differences. I did notice my girl is lighter and smaller.
That’s what I have thought also. But I’m still relatively new to ducks so I was like maybe I’m wrong. 🤷🏼♀️ Only one is quacking and the other two are definitely still doing a peep but it’s a little more grown of a peep if that makes sense but hasn’t gone raspy yet 🫠
Thank you all so much for...
