I served in the Army from 2003 to 2010. During my deployment '03-'05, I was injured several times, and those experiences shaped much of who I am today. Later, in 2009, while working on a howitzer track repair, my hands were crushed, which added more challenges to my life.
These events led to some physical limitations, and I now rely on voice-to-text technology and an AI assistant to help me communicate clearly and organize my thoughts. It's a method that works for me to express myself, as it allows me to think out loud and share my ideas in a way that’s easier to understand.
On top of the physical challenges, I’ve also dealt with mental health struggles, particularly PTSD. Raising quail has become a vital part of my therapy, offering a calming and rewarding way to cope. Caring for these birds has provided me with a sense of purpose and peace, which has made a huge difference in managing my mental health.
I’m here to connect with others who understand the therapeutic benefits of working with animals and farming, and I’m happy to share my experiences and learn from others along the way. Thanks for welcoming me into the community.
