Hi,
So yesterday afternoon i went out with another person and the two of us 'successfully' induced vomiting on our chicken.
As petrified as i was, we gently turned her upside down and held her by the legs, she was so calm.
We then massaged her crop gently, and she slowly brought up everything...
ok, so my stupid question for today.
My chickens are outside in their coop, they have a roost, and they do go inside as soon as night starts to hit, or if i call them in earlier. They are great at going inside in the evenings, they roam free each day for 7ish or so hours.
They do go and sit...
Thank you, just wanted to make sure... i am trying to give them a mix of feeds... but there staple is the 8-16 week feed that i got from the stock feed shop...
Thank you everyone,
so they seem to be sex links, i think i have 2 roo's and a pullet. The second pic is the one im unsure of, but it has much more white than brown and stands a bit more broad than the hen....
edited for content
does anyone know when they start to 'make baby chickens' with...
I believe this one is a roo?
undecided by this one, as the comb is smaller than the first one...
Any suggestions for what type of chickens they are too?
Thank goodness for this thread, my staff came in the other day saying that the chicken has a lump. My first reaction was to come on here. Thank you for all the old posts.
The lump doesnt go down lots, and i have read mixed messages.
My chickens should have food all the time? is this correct...
*BUMP*
Also,
I emailed the person i got them from and this was there response....
still not any help to me, but i thought you guys might have a clue!
The chickens are from the Lohbram Family Chickens Variety out of the Bond Hatchery

This is what mine were like, which are still not sexed, however i was told that the pullet feathers faster... im at 5 weeks, still not sure, they look kinda similar too, was told either sex links or RIR's...
I work in children's services and we gave the 3-5 year olds the task of naming our chicks...
The list was as follows:
Brewster
Soup
Cheepee
Orlando
Roostie
Shoestar
Griza
we ended up voting & have three chicks Soup, Orlando & Cheepee...
Its been a while since this thread has been bumped, however, i was wondering if anyone can tell me how old the chick must be to try sexing the way Johnnyboy suggested?
is to put them on their back in a cupped hand. if they flip over quickly it is a boy but if they stay and lay on thier back...
Ok, so here are the best pics i could get, as they were being circled by 15 4 year old children and they were starting to move a bit...
I know im annoying, but how many weeks does it usually take before you know if they are roosters or not? I am aware that its still early days i just need to...
