I know my girls are skinny. There was a situation earlier this week 😞 but they are with a friend who is taking very good care of them while I get some other stuff worked out so that situation is never a situation they will be in again.
I also have some fresh babies from summer school. I hatched out quail for an enrichment activity with the students. So far no names on these littles but they are going to become classroom pets for my ELL science kids.
This jerk just earned his name this week... I hatched him with my high school kids but they will never ever ever know that he has been named Mother Clucker. Mostly because I have never had a mean roo before this guy. He will wait til you get close then peck you in the knees!
I know this post is kinda old and you may not see this but can you tell me how to set the alarm parameters? The manual is lost in my classroom somewhere and it beeps constantly because I need the humidity to stay just under what I have the alarm set to!
Thanks!
This is Sergio... named after one of our students. We hatched at school with some high school kids and I picked up a pair of polish so they could see some other birds and to diversify my flock. Chicken Sergio is my helpful one
I did a hatch with some urban high school kids this year! They were so excited about all the colors of eggs! They took votes on who they thought would hatch as we went through the incubation process! We ended up with 15 chicks from the 36 eggs we started with and today was hatch day for the last...
The silkies comb is a deep reddish... not really black like his legs.
They don't really sit still unless it's bedtime which makes it hard to get better pictures of them. :(
So I acquired these 3 the 1st week in april from TSC. I guess that means they are about 5 months.I was told they are bantam at the time and was given no information on gender or breed.
I'm pretty sure the fluffy one is a silkie roo seeing as it has the dark skin, 5 toes and crows.
I think the 1...
