    So..interesting development. Big Mama, whose combs and wattle have been slower to develop, is getting green tipped feathers on her wings.Does that scream cockerel? Neither RIR has green in their tail.

    I would die. I hate the heat. I live in Michigan and we have been in the 90's for weeks and I feel like I'm dying. All the yard work is behind and yard projects half done. Lol.

    Thank you all. I appreciate all the advice and kind words. I found a local lady who has Collonca eggs. Very interesting and tempting. I think I'll try a small batch and hopefully can end the summer on a high note. I probably won't be using shipped eggs again for a long time until I gain back...

    I was told that she sexes by look. She hatches them all the time and has a pretty good record, according to her.

    I was wondering the same thing. What threw me is that they look the same body wise, feathering color, leg color, etc. Its just that red comb/wattle thats different. I thought maybe the weird sick call may be the start of an egg song or something too. Its like one long, hoarse "baaaaaaaaalllllwk".

    TSC has them for $50, regular $150 and they're made of cedar with a shingled roof! Super nice. Thankfully, my suoervisor at work said I can send him all my roos. :D
