    Thank you, Wynette! This thread and all of BYC is great! For months now every time I searched for information about all things fowl-it led to BYC! I'll be in the coops section today. Naturally, I'm thinking about expanding the flock.

    Thank you pinkchick! I'm thankful to have the resource of information that BYC forums supplies. My plans for a Cuckoo Rooster recently fell through, but as spring rolls around, new opportunities will present themselves for a mate for Chick-Chick I'm sure.

    Thank you, Pinkchick! She's grown a little since that photo. She's such a nice girl. My daughter and I are also looking for a Marans 'fella' for her this spring! What would happen if we bought a Cuckoo Marans for her? We may have the opportunity to get one locally soon.

    Lilly certainly does have a different look about her compared to the other two hens, roosterandhens. She seems longer-legged and her comb is more noticeable.     Those sound like some sneaky chicks, reinvestment! We have been getting duck eggs for a month now and I'm so tickled to have found a chicken egg! I'll take your advice about letting them stay in a bit longer in the morning.

    Thank you, r4eboxer! The Black Swedish was purchased from a hatchery. The Blue was a local purchase. I'll be looking for a Blue Swedish male this spring.

    Wow! Thank you for your help. Little and Lilly do have single combs. Lilly's comb is more prominent than Little's. I have no knowledge of second generation sex links and game bird crosses. That can be some 'homework' for me today!
