My little frizzle died & now another pullet from the same batch has one leg/wing paralyzed. I assume it is Mareks, even though they were vaccinated. Probably brooding them in the coop with the other hens was just too much exposure. Oddly enough, their broody silkie mother hen was not...

    4-month frizzle anorexia/lethargic

Now I have another pullet from the same batch with single leg paralysis. This one has a different profile -- normal weight and still eating well. I gave her B & E vitamins in case it is that.

    4-month frizzle anorexia/lethargic

Update: sadly my sweet little pullet died. I took her to necropsy, & so far they found that her heart was pale & mottled, with some small hemorrhages. Need to wait for more testing but it is leaning towards Mareks despite her being vaccinated. No one else is sick.

I am not at all certain coccidia is the issue, and when I gave her just corid/no electrolytes for several days she got worse, went back to not eating and keeps twisting her head back. Now I have her on dewormer (Safeguard) for 5 days and off Corid, but really she is not getting better. Still...

    Are these worms?

She is sick -- I started another thread on it but only one person commented. I started her on dewormer a few days ago with suspected cappilaria worms. I am worried she is obstructed. Symptoms are just like the hen in the thread I attached, and poop is very similar too.

On this thread the poop looked the same and turned out to be worms...

    4-month frizzle anorexia/lethargic

Update: still fatigued and not really eating, except a little peck here and there. I started giving her a dewormer (Safeguard) for a 5 day course, as I suspect capillary worms.

    4-month frizzle anorexia/lethargic

She was willing to drink on her own this evening to a limited extent, but still not eating unless I feed her. I spoon fed her egg yolk with honey, and yogurt with fermented feed.

Hi I tried writing to the sick chickens forum, but so far no help so I am writing here. I have a 4 month old frizzle bantam chick who is very lethargic. I have been spoon feeding her (putting the food in her mouth) and giving her water with an eyedropper. I am giving her corid drench and also...

    4-month frizzle anorexia/lethargic

That is organic boiler feed from a local source. That is what all my chickens get and then I supplement calcium for those that need it. She has not been eating on her own, however. I am doing the corid drench. Will check crop in the morning. Yes she can see. A few days ago she pecked at...

    4-month frizzle anorexia/lethargic

My adorable 4-month bantam frizzle Bell is not doing well. Found her 2 days ago huddled barely moving and brought her inside. She is not eating or drinking on her own and I have been using an eyedropper to give her fluids (water, corid). At first she pecked at some mealie worms, but now not...

I'd love to see a picture of a Jade Welbar. Nothing comes up if one googles.
