I'm looking for geese to graze a pasture I have. I'm thinking about Embden's and I'm thinking long-term. I've gotten my ducks from Holderread's and have been really pleased with them. There is a huge difference between price between Metzer's and Holderread's when it comes to Embden...
I am interested in getting some Americans next year, but I have some questions. I would be starting a flock for meat production and I wanted to know: How much do they weigh at 7-10 weeks? How noisy are they compared to others, like the Pilgrim? Are they good foragers?

Thanks so much for the info. I was hoping they weren't too far off from the Pekin and 2 weeks isn't a problem at all. Are the eggs a pretty good size, too?

I'm looking to get some Silver Appleyards next year, but I'm curious about their weight at 8-10 weeks. They, along with my Muscovy's, will be my meat breeds and so I'm trying to compare them to a Pekin. I'm going to be getting Silver Appleyards, because I think they are better long-term solution...
