    chickens or hens always go to the highest part of the house or roost.

    there stressed from loosing one that throws off the pecking order for a few days it sounds funny but its true.

    I have 24 hens and 2 roosters I still get 7 to 10 eggs a day it was -45 out side this last week I live in Wisconsin. I have a heat lamp that comes at 5 in the morning an shuts off at 6 at nite the hens need lite. i try to keep it about 0 in the house and feed them a lot of corn during the day...

    Is our roost wrong?? Need advise!

    I was talking to a real chicken farmer he's got 500 chickens and he uses 2x2's that way the chickens can grip an sleep without the fear of falling. So maybe cut the 2x4's in half. just an idea.
