Sexing Mille Fleur d'uccle (more photos #6)

He was definitely a HE. And best I remember the other was a pullet. I have hatched more since this and have tried different sexing methods. For a while I thought maybe coloring had something to do with it. Nope. I tried to sex them by their wings, but can never remember the rule of thumb...

First time broody and her chicks

My hen is hatching 8 eggs and I have been checking each day to see if there are chicks under her. This morning when I slightly lifted her.. two dry babies tumbled out, and she immediately started pecking them. I have searched at least 10 pages on here about broodies and babies and just have to...

    Sick Silkie not eating

maybe she has an impacted crop? I think that is what finally killed mt Emma a week ago. Her body was shutting down and her crop seemed to get plugged. I tried massaging it, but she was uncomfortable with it. It was so sad and hard to let her finally go.

Can Molting be dangerous for a chicken?

Thanks Ksane! I will get one of those tomorrow. Should I hold off on giving that to Emma as stated earlier? I assume that I want the equine kind, right?

Can Molting be dangerous for a chicken?

I don't believe her to be low in the pecking order at all. She is 3 years old and is with 4 other d'Uccles. But I guess if she wasn't feeling well, she may have been "bumped down the ladder." As for being separated from them.. she has been in the house in a dog crate being totally babied ever...

Can Molting be dangerous for a chicken?

She is skin, bones and feathers. They have not run out of food, so I am confused by the whole thing. It HAS to be worms. Her crop is normal.. I have been feeling to see if it is impacted. hard to say when she last laid an egg because there is another hen with her. My guess, though , is about...

Can Molting be dangerous for a chicken?

I guess the answer is no... because no one has replied. She is more alert tonight, and hungry... just weak.
