    I will try and get a picture of the next egg. Yes the shells are hard. I may need to take out one of the wooden eggs so there is only one In The nest box. I have a good layer of pine shavings in the box.

    Thank all of you for responding. Definitely praying for a pullet. She is one of the sweetest of my birds and follows me around everywhere. Definitely wouldn't say cockerel behavior and is the smallest of my chicks though is also a week younger. Will keep you posted.

    Hoping for a pullet. When I had my other flock I has 2 speckled Sussex and they were the sweetest birds of my whole flock.

    Oh so excited. They have different lacing on their feathers so wasn’t sure if they were the same breed.
