ncymst, you may want to research a condition called "fly strike". Poultry poop vents are very succeptible to infestation as it provides everything flies require for breeding. The "Chicken Chick" blog provides a pretty comprehensive ruin down on the condition & how to treat it. Good luck!- fitzchix
