Hey, all! I have 15 birds. A little while back, one of them started looking a bit shabby, losing some feathers, but otherwise acting fine. I thought maybe our turkey was picking on her (I have a male and a female turkey housed with the chickens, they all get along great 95% of the time). Anyway...
This poor thing just came into the ER where I work. The owner doesn’t have much information to offer and isn’t sure how long the bird has been sick. It does have red mites and it’s respirations sound wet and gurgley. Periodically, it stretches its neck and gasps. It’s left eye is almost...
Oh! Good advice about the profile! I’ll do that today. I haven’t seen him being pecked at. I’m in the Tampa area and we definitely have mosquitos. There’s inevitably standing water around for a period after the rains, though nothing he should have direct access to. They do have a self-filling...
My little bantam rooster has this crusty, gray, puffy patches on his comb. He’s young, just about finished filling in his feathers. He’s housed with a little hen, but the two of them are isolated from the rest of my birds (because they’re so small). I haven’t found any sign of mites. I don’t...
Ah! Thank you so much! I googled that and found a photo of a Phoenix chicken hen that looks almost exactly like this little friend.. the roosters look significantly different, so if that's what this chicken is.. I'm optimistic this will be a hen. Phew! Thanks so much for the help!
A nice lady found this bird as a tiny baby and raised it to this size.. she dropped it off at my work saying she can't have a chicken at her house. We have wild turkey, peafowl, pheasant and chickens in our area and no one at work can agree on what this bird will grow up to be.. ideas? As...
A good Samaritan brought this into our hospital.. one person say turkey, another says chicken.. cute little thing still has it hatching tooth :) <3 <3 <3
Someone dropped this off at the clinic I work at. Not sure yet what it is or what's going on with him/her healthwise, but does anyone know what this is? Thanks sooo much in advance for any input!
