    Why are ready-made coops off the ground? Insulated? Cooling?

    We don't have ready made but we did build off the ground. That way, the ducks have shelter in the winter (underneath) without making a HUGE mess of the chicken space. Works really well. A couple of strawbales on the windy side and everyone's happy. Also - people buy ready made coops for lots...

    Thanks so much. I think I'm going to have to get the teramycin in his water as he's looking weak and I suspect the infection has taken hold. Thanks.

    Hi all, Next step is a call to the vet. I have a roo with an infected toe. It's just at the point where the toe and claw meet. Not spreading. He's eating and drinking and able to walk, although it hurts him. It's a roo vs roo related injury. Advice? I'm thinking he's likely going to need a/b...
