rooster hates chicken saddles
He is still attacking the hens with the saddles, and he made one bleed, so know he is in "time out" in a cage in the garage. Hoping he gets over it because they need some protection. Can I trim his spurs if he won't accept the saddle?- fleischdoc

My rooster is tearing up the back of 2 of my hens, so I got them some cute chicken saddles :) We just put them on the hens and the rooster went ballistic- chased them down and ripped the saddles off. Will he get used to them, or should I separate them for a bit? It was comical to watch except...- fleischdoc

Thank you! He is currently isolated in my garage in a large dog pen, and he is not happy :) In a few days we will try him with the new girls. Lisa- fleischdoc

rooster aggressive to new pullets
I am trying to introduce our 6 12 week old pullets to the established flock of 3 hens (red layer mix) and our golden laced wyandotte rooster. The hens basically ignore them., but the rooster has drawn blood and removed chunks of skin on 2 of them on the back of their head. We are free ranging...- fleischdoc
