Problem here is, I'm also a builder, so everything just keeps getting bigger and bigger... I'm currently trying to figure out how to chicken wire the entire yard and over my house... And build this kinda big enclosed dome over the entire property. No seriously though if my butt doesn't quit...
That's funny 😂 I get out a lot, but I'm just learning this chicken thing, and it's so neat. I wanted 14... And 7 months later I'm at 110 🤦 and I have more in the incubator 🤷 so eventually my getting out a lot, is going to be consumed with only chicken I suppose. I trip all mine out though...
Quit it 😭 that story is making me feel bad about eating the eggs 🤦 I'm kidding, but yes it's definitely awesome to me. I have multiple chicken and this is the only rooster that does it... So that to me makes it more interesting.
Well I'm not into anything social like Facebook, YouTube, etc... but I'm definitely into chickens 😂 so here I am 🤦 thank you for letting me know though.
Interesting... Wondering though how he's guiding the hens, he kinda just walks around on the ground doing the egg song about 20 feet from the nesting boxes... While 5 or 6 hens are up there laying eggs. I tried to post the video, but for some reason it's not letting me. I suppose that could be...
My Speckled Sussex rooster sings the egg song!!! Yes, I wrote that it sings the egg song. Looking it up on Google it says that a rooster will do it to draw attention to itself when a hen is laying an egg... I think it's pretty neat, anyone else's do this???
I honestly don't think anyone on BYC is going to tell you it's a bad idea, considering everyone on here loves chickens 👌 the question you have to ask yourself is if you can actually stop with only that many chicken ❓ I've personally never seen the point in moving it, but that's my personal...
I am wondering if there's any place or site I can buy some black Minorca eggs. I Google it, but ask the sites it pulls up, do not currently sell them. I think it would be an interesting chicken. Apparently Google says there's not too many around.
Yeah me too... They were bought at tractor supply, and it's when I was first starting. I just bought 2 that were cashed buckeyes. Well Google showed me they weren't, so I took them to the feed store where they identified them as red ranger 🤷 I gave them along with 2 Beilfelder roosters, as...
Ok, so the rooster thing makes sense and so does the culling in 3 years. Basically they'll still lay in the 3rd year but not as much. So if I were to cull a lot of them right before the 3rd winter I'd still have new ones starting to lay. And possibly the meat may be still tender... Also I...
