    Sick chicken - genetic?

So I got the baytril and it got here last night so she has been on it for one full day. She is still acting sluggish and not eating much but she is drinking water alright. I did notice today though that she makes a clicking sound when breathing. I heard that this was due to water or liquid in...

    Sick chicken - genetic?

I ordered some baytril so it should be here tomorrow. I wormed the entire flock over the summer with safeguard. I can see if any vet around here will do a fecal test. I don’t know if this means anything but her comb started to turn purple over the summer and has stayed that color since. I...

    Sick chicken - genetic?

I am currently feeding an all flock feed with free choice oyster shells. I gave her some nutri drench in her water and she seemed to perk up a little bit after that. She now also seemed to have a bloody toe so I have to fix that up too. I am located in Michigan and it has been really cold and...

    Sick chicken - genetic?

Hi all, hope that everyone has had a good new years so far. I need some help with another sick chicken. The chicken that I am concerned about is named Freya and she is a 1 1/2 year old cream legbar. She has never laid an egg and is quite small. A few days ago I noticed that she had runny green...

    Blood in stools: Cocci?

So I just got home and there isn’t nearly as much blood in their poop as this morning. However, the one chicken that I have been keeping an eye on is moving a bit slower today but not acting lethargic. The last pic is the most recent from her.

    Blood in stools: Cocci?

I will check and post pictures when I get home. Would the dewormer have to be given separate from corid or can they be given at the same time? Also, is there an egg withdrawl time for Corid and the dewormer?

    Blood in stools: Cocci?

Hi everyone. Thought I was in the clear with sick chickens but I guess not. I have 15 chickens that are ages 7 months and 1 year. They have all been laying eggs and eating/drinking like normal. They are kept in their coop/run all day but get let out for an hour in the evenings. They are on an...

    Pale comb - stress related?

Yes, they are all laying. Her comb seemed more pale later in the afternoon after everyone had laid but that could be a possibility.

    Pale comb - stress related?

Hi everyone, don’t know if I’m being paranoid or what but the past two days I have been noticing that a few of my 8 month old pullets have paler combs than normal. They aren’t completely drained of color they just aren’t as bright as normal. One of the girls, our cream legbar, has the palest...

Sick hen/droopy tail not acting normal

Thank you everyone for all of your help! I ended up not needing to tube feed her because she started to eat and drink on her own! I did switch her from her electrolytes to nutri drench and she seemed to perk up after that!

Sick hen/droopy tail not acting normal

Ok, so I am very confused. Today Carmen will not eat or drink by herself so I am giving her water through an eyedropper. I also made her a mash with her normal feed but she will only eat that if I feed her by hand. I added shavings to her little pen but now she seems to be eating a ton of them...

Sick hen/droopy tail not acting normal

they were showing the same symptoms so I put them both in the garage. I was out of town last week so I was gone when they started to show symptoms. I really have no idea what it could be. The rest of the flock is acting normal and looking healthy and laying really well. Carmen has been sick for...

Sick hen/droopy tail not acting normal

I did and I started them on it yesterday. Unfortunately when Dixie has passed away this morning. She had her head curled up under her and had been panting and drooling before she died. I did find a very large puddle of yellowish goo where she was sitting that almost looked as if it was an egg...

Sick hen/droopy tail not acting normal

I have checked all over the coop for any signs of mold but did not find any. I removed the top layer of the run just to be safe and I cleaned out all of their feeders/watered and nesting pads. Everyone in the flock is looking good and Carmen has shown signs of improvement. She is now eating...
