    I need to first get the coop all set up for this one and wait until I determine it’s gender, then I’ll probably get one depending on how it gets on. It will be kept inside and will be allowed to free roam around my house too. I work from home so in the meantime I’ll be there to keep it company

    Yes! Still going strong, it’s a lot darker now but under good light there is more veins and I can see movement inside which is really cool. If all goes well next week should close to hatching!

    Hi guys, I got these quail eggs from a supermarket, wasn’t expecting much. I’ve also never hatched eggs before. All of them were duds until I got to the last one, I think this shows some sign of life?? Although I am new to this, what do you guys think? It’s day 4 fyi.

    When is it humane to euthanise unwanted eggs?

    To be honest, I don’t personally believe it’s the same. Not to get too controversial but I do believe abortion is ethical, and I believe life begins at birth/hatch. My problem is there will be no one in my area who will actually buy them probably. But I will try.

    Its mainly just due to space as I already have quiet a few ducks right now, however as I’d say, I’d rather accept the six than cause any eggs pain. This is why I’m concerned.
