Well I talked to my friend again, who I got the eggs from. He does not have a BR rooster. Only us a Buff Orpington and a RIR rooster. His hens are Americuanas and Barred Rock. So the barred boys above would be Black Sex Link I’m guessing and the gray one is just an EE at this point with some...
Here are three of my Barred Rocks. Well, maybe. I got some eggs from a friend and I haven't seen his flock, so I'm going off what he told me he has. He says he has BR hens, Americuana hens, a RIR rooster, and a Buff Orpington rooster. Is it Possible to get chickens that look like only BR...
These are the other hatchlings. I’ve got an EE cockerel (blue/grey) and 2 EE hens( reddish brown). Two other blackish (maybe sex link) hens, two other reddish hens, a blackish (maybe sex link) male and three Barred rock looking males. So the cockerel in question doesn’t really look similar to...
Alright folks, since the last one was so much fun, let’s see what y’all say about this fella. Have an idea of the breed, possibly. I got a bunch of eggs from a buddy of mine and a few from my neighbor as well. For the life of me, I can’t remember which egg this one hatched from. By buddy has...
Survey says cockerel!! Thanks for y’all input. Had a heavy suspicion that’s what he was and as always, time will tell. His Rooster feathers are coming in nicely and he finally found his crow. For your viewing pleasure, Vincent and his brother Chanticleer. 4mo old
We home school, so my wife and kids’ routine hasn’t really changed. I still go to work, but on a modified routine to reduce infection risk and my wife just orders groceries and stuff for curbside pick up and sends me. Then I go through a decontamination procedure when coming in the house. The...
These are from when it was younger and I’ve included it’s brother fro reference. Also I’m not sure if those are “sickle feathers “ on its tail or just a by product of the cross breed and taking after the Welsummer side. They all seem to have slightly different tail sections.
Ya it’s a pain. Mom has some fairly long hackle feathers and the coloring makes the hackles look pointy unless you look close and then it’s hard to tell when you compare to one of the known hens that is it’s sister for sure.
Having trouble figuring it out. Think it may be a cockerel. 3 months old. I’ll show pics of him/her along with the siblings. The black one with the blond neck feathers is one one I’m curious about. The white one has started crowing. And I’m certain the other two are hens. They (the 4 of them)...
