    crop with grit/pebbles

I did a round of monistat and coconut oil and a few days of the bra which she HATES. Her crop went down, not completely, but significantly, so I let her be nakie, which was my mistake. This morning’s check looks much better already, she doesn’t feel full to bursting. Doing 1/4tsp acidified...

    crop with grit/pebbles

I WISH. I literally just came in from putting ACS out for her. She’s not as squishy, it’s firm, but she’s regurgitating whenever I pick her up again. She’s pooping, so I’m not thinking she’s really blocked up. Not laying, she only gave me three eggs in early Jan and then stopped (I assumed from...

    crop with grit/pebbles

How’s your chicken doing? Mine still has a gritty crop, but she’s acting normally… except the halt in eggs. She laid her first in early Jan, I think three or four in total, and nothing since. Sour crop is gone but she’s not emptying still, I have her in a crop bra now while I scratch my head.

Thank you for posting this, it’s nearly exactly what’s going on with my hen. I read ALLLLLL the sour crop articles and threads (thank you @azygous) and will be doing the same with my little birdie.

    Open Contest Chilly Coop Contest!

Entry 1 Here is my ladies’ cabin with a screened in porch, just next to mine. Set up so I can see them from my living room and we don’t have to shovel a ton to get to it. We are in the mountains just NW of Denver. No neighbors, so I could pick the most obnoxiously bright colors I wanted!

    Heyyyyy!

Thank you! I actually have the electric fencing to be installed next spring when the bears wake up again. 🙂

    Heyyyyy!

    1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? This is my first year with chickens! Brought 6 baby chicks home May 3,2025. (2) How many chickens do you have right now? I lost three of my original babies to a bear, and replaced them with three pullets, so I’m still at six. (3)...
