New house came with a huge unmanaged flock. Help!
When we came the previous owners had the chicken coop full of bags of dried tortillas and food bank bread that was mildewed. The outside of the coop had 4 huge boxes of Oreo cookies (just the cookie part, these didn't come with the filling) just laying out open. Not talking like a "family size"...- FormidableFlock

We've already started to cull the unhealthy chickens and these are those that may be kept as they are coming home for feeding. They are also starting to look much better within the last 2 months since they are being fed twice a day and I'm putting drops in their water (not sure what the drops...- FormidableFlock

Poor picture but trying to show more than individuals and shows part of the pasture they roam. Front of property is all orchard and that is where they are roosting right now.- FormidableFlock

12 nesting boxes with wood chips at bottom and dried grass that I snagged from a neighbor that has horses. Next paycheck I will be picking up some diatomaceous earth to make a dust bath and will sprinkle some in the nesting boxes.- FormidableFlock

Poor shot of the coop and still working on getting actual roosts put up. The feeder and waterer were outside getting cleaned when the pic was taken. Floor is sand and gets raked out every 3-4 days.- FormidableFlock

The coop looks to be about 10' x 15' and has 12 nesting boxes. It has a ledge on the back for roosting but I need to make an actual roosting area to support the larger amount of birds. We spread some greens and seeds today to attract more towards the coop but it mostly just attracted the pea...- FormidableFlock

My new house that we just purchased is out in the country and has three acres. We saw all of the chickens and were excited at the idea of having our own eggs and meat birds until we saw the state of the flock that the house came with.
