    Another little tidbit...had several big rains...feed is dry and little to no waste going on. Just ordered 4 more of these things.

    Since space is limited id use a 1/4" square wire. Don't use anything they can get their head through. Try not to spook them and they'll be fine.

    When my feed gets wet and ferments...even a little, my birds will starve to death before they touch it. How do you make them eat it?

    We really take for granted the opportunities we have. Whether a person enjoys hunting or not we have the option to choose. Some of the best days I've spent hunting had nothing to do with killing an animal. Sitting in a duck blind with my son and my dog watching the sun come up...hearing the air...

    I've had lots of late hatchers recently. Threw some in the trash can two weeks ago after day 27 then walked by and heard a peep...looked forever for the escapee and then finally looked in the can. Had 6 more hatch. Figures they'd die but all remained strong after 24 hours in a trash can.

    Ordered two 50 pound Kuhl range feeders to try out. So far I'm very pleased. They actually hold about 30 pounds which is disappointing but they function very well. The night after I put them in the pens we had about an inch of rain with 40mph driving wind. Both feeders...dry as a powder house...

    Perhaps cheap was a relative term...you can get the turner for the hovabator for about $40 make sure it's got quail rails. Yes, put them on the turner as soon as you collect them or turn your collected eggs by hand three or four times a day.

    Not offended in the least Pinkaboo. The first weiner dog I mentioned was a vet trip...never again. That was rough.

    Most dogs I've been around hate going to the vet. They are nervous and uncomfortable. Why would I want that to be my best buddy's last memory? We'll go out...chase a bird as best we can, have a steak, and it will be over instantly. It's my responsibility as his caretaker and I owe it to him...
