- Chicks due July 3rd but mother BAD sitter! All we had left after all the murders that had happened recently. Bought a first incubator. On the evening of the 3rd I put the 5 saved - and hopefully fertilized - eggs in the bator. On July 4th there were pips in 4. Next day all but the 5th chick who took another 30 hours. I found this site just in time to prevent my husband from interfering! Great information.
