Hi! My name is Kristen. I have a mixed flock consisting of a cuckoo maran, Egyptian Fayoumi, 2 Ameraucanas, a Golden laced wyandotte and my olive egger rooster. They are free ranging since we live in the country on a dead end dirt road. They are four years old and are prolific egg layers.
Just hatched (June 30th '22) a call duckling and two chicks from my flock-one from my ameraucana hen and the other from my cuckoo maran.
Since my first call duck incubation was problematic (shipped eggs, too early assistance) I am starting a new batch on July 3rd and they will be due around July 28th.
The girls and their rooster are free ranging. My calls will have an enclosure built to protect them from predation.
When my husband and I buy a house next year, I plan to begin breeding call ducks and heritage breed chickens for pets and show!
Indoors I have five kitties and two dogs. Everyone is spoiled since I work from home and spend most of my days loving on them all
I love this community and hope to learn more and more and gain the experience needed to help others with their flocks

- Learning about incubation, hatching and raising of call ducks. Helping others with incubation and hatching issues as I become more experienced myself.
To be able to connect with people here and sharing the enjoyment of owning chickens and ducks.
Within the next few years I plan to begin breeding and showing call ducks and cuckoo maran chickens.
