There are too many bears around here to move but you are right, I just checked Colorado law and you can shoot a bear to protect livestock. For some reason I thought that was not allowed. Anyway, I don't want to shoot them anyway.

All I can assume at this point is it is just the chickens pecking one another. I did a lot of research a while back and couldn't find anything similar. Doesn't really match pecking either, but they seem fine.
Yes, definitely in Colorado. That kind of explains the elk shed on the coop, seemed like a nice place for it. We have some very average chickens, Rhode Island Reds, Rhode Island Whites, Buff Orpingtons, Americaunas and one barnyard mix bird.
I've seen a lot of threads on pale combs and black spotted pox combs, but nothing on brown spotted combs. Anyone know what is wrong with my birds? Several of them seem to have this although I haven't detected any problem with it.
