    Chicken not breathing right!!!

Thank you! I will definitely check her crop tomorrow, we hade another Pullet a while back who we suspect had sour crop or an impacted crop and treated for it(she’s fine now!), but she acted much different then this. I’m not too familiar with crop issues though, so I’ll take your advise!

    Chicken not breathing right!!!

No, today wasn’t very hot, since it’s fall. And yes, she has access to water all day.

    Chicken not breathing right!!!

When I went to check on my chickens as I usually do, I was looking in the coop and heard what I thought at first to be a seagull! I later found out houwever, that It was our 6-6 1/2 month old Easter egger pullet, Bean. She’s breathing with her mouth open and it sounds raspy. This is definitely...

    Black Australorp Cockerel or Pullet?

Thanks! Raye will lay some great eggs then! :D

    Is Bean a Cockerel?

This is Bean, he’s a very cuddly Easter egger, and I’m thinking he may, in fact, be a rooster. He’s about 12.5 weeks old and acts like a very friendly rooster, he watches the sky and warns the others about hawks. He doesn’t crow yet, and his hackles aren’t especially pointy, but I am wondering...

    Black Australorp Cockerel or Pullet?

This is Raye, our black austrlorp* I was thinking she was a pullet but her hackle feathers look pretty pointy and she’s acting a bit rooster-ish. Is Raye a “he” or a “she”? Raye’s about 12.5 weeks old. Are the pointy hackle feathers normal for black Australorp pullets? Or is Raye a cockerel...

Is Goopy a Cockeral or a Pullet?

We have an Easter egger named Goopy, he’s about 12.5 weeks old, and I’ve been calling him a “him” since they were about 6 weeks old. He acts pretty rooster-y and his hackle feathers look pretty-darn pointy to me, but his comb looks like just one pea...? And still not much red..? Though I’d like...

    Bantam Assorted Bin

Yeah, I though it might be a Cochin as well, but I’m not great at chickens yet, so thanks for helping!

Chick from the bantam assorted bin, the chick has feathered legs. Is anyone able to tell what breed it is yet?

Nope, but his children’ll be cute!

4 Week Easter Egger Roo or Pullet?

Uh oh! We’ve still got one other Easter Egger who we ordered as a pullet, so hopefully the hatchery got it right! Only a 1.5 weeks as of now though.

4 Week Easter Egger Roo or Pullet?

Thanks for the replies! I’d heard something about the red wing bars somewhere, but I had no idea how it worked!

4 Week Easter Egger Roo or Pullet?

This little Easter Egger, named Goopy by my little brother, is the most aggressive(towards the other chicks, not people) of our chicks. At least to me, it seems s/he’s the most cockerel-y of the bunch thus far. S/he leads the pack; s/he moves, so does everyone else. If any of the other chicks...
